The North West region has made every effort to include the data on all known service changes over the August Bank Holiday weekend within these timetables and journey plans. However, at this time of year services can be subject to short notice changes and you may wish to check with the Traveline on 0871 200 22 33 (calls from landlines cost 10 pence per minute; mobile phone costs may vary), where you will be given the latest position.
Search for journeys between postcodes, postal addresses, town/areas, or bus/rail stations and stops.
There are three areas to this page: Travelling..., Time and date, Mode of Transport.
In the Travelling... area, type in where you want to go from and where you want to go to. You must put something in the From and To windows. You can type in addresses, post codes, street names, bus stop names or localities. You may also want to travel Via (optional) a particular place. The Via option is not designed to break a journey at the location selected and will often plan a journey using a mode of travel that only passes through. If you need to plan a journey with a break in between then you need to plan two separate journeys to and from the location you wish to break the journey at. You can only search on rail stops and localities using the Via option.
If you want to leave soon, you can leave the Time and date area as it is. You can change the date and time you want to leave, planning your journey up to a month in advance. Enter a time using the 24 hour clock (09:00 is nine in the morning, 21:00 is nine in the evening). Normally you plan a journey to leave after a certain time, but you can plan a journey that arrives by a certain time if you prefer - click so the dot is next to Arrive by.
Normally your journey plan will use any Mode of Transport available. If you prefer not to travel by train or by bus, for example, you can click next to Rail or Bus to remove the tick in the box. Click again to replace the tick.
When you are happy you have put the right choices for your journey into this page, click on the Search... button. This will take you to further pages where you can confirm your choices.
